Sherwin is Zuckerman Investment Group’s Executive Chairman and a voting member of the firm’s Investment Committee, which is responsible for making all investment and portfolio management decisions.

As Executive Chairman, Sherwin ensures that his unique and proven approach to financial counseling and asset management is exemplified by the firm’s culture and strengthened by the firm’s strategic direction.

Sherwin developed his investment approach during his time as a portfolio manager and investment counselor at Harris Associates. Over the years, Sherwin recognized that clients achieved the best long-term outcomes when client assets were managed using a disciplined, value-based approach that focused on easy-to-understand investments and when there was a personal relationship built on trust between the client and the financial counselor.

Sherwin founded Zuckerman Investment Group with his son, Daniel, in 2005 after a distinguished 30-year career of devoted client service and investment excellence as a Partner at Harris Associates and at Security Supervisors. Sherwin began his career as an auditor at Arthur Anderson.

Sherwin received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University. Sherwin has passed the CPA exam.
