Job Description
Zuckerman Investment Group is looking for a finance intern for Summer 2023, with the option to start earlier and continue into the school year. You will gain exposure to all aspects of a wealth management firm by providing support to the finance team. This position is an excellent first step for someone looking to learn what it is like to work at a wealth management firm in a finance position.
This position will be hybrid. The firm is currently on a hybrid remote workforce due to precautions related to COVID-19.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the firm’s books and records and producing monthly financial statements
- Update, gather and distribute data related to the firm’s private funds
- Support the firm’s client billing process by performing quarterly reconciliation checks to assist in calculating, processing, and reconciling quarterly fees and client statements
- Support the firm’s accounts payable and receivable functions
- Execute various projects within the finance function to enhance processes and reporting needs
Requirements
- Rising Junior or Senior – graduating between May 2023 – May 2024
- Passion for numbers
- Highly organized, extremely detail-oriented and desire and ability to solve complex problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Intuit QuickBooks preferred but not required

Job Description
Zuckerman Investment Group is looking for a Trading Associate to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity to participate in the expansion of an established wealth management firm and offers great growth potential. You will gain valuable experience and knowledge as you execute across several aspects of the investment and wealth management business with the opportunity to take ownership of, and further develop, this important function within the firm and make increasingly strategic contributions over time. This position is located in Chicago, Illinois with a hybrid home/office work arrangement.

Responsibilities
- Execute, with the guidance of the portfolio manager, all aspects of the equity and fixed income trading process, including security setup, order creation, dealer communication, negotiation, allocations and trade reconciliation
- Support the portfolio management process and decision making, including data collection, reporting, analysis, individual account management, position sizing and ad hoc special projects
- Work to continually improve the firm’s reporting, portfolio management, trading, allocation and reconciliation capabilities and processes

Responsibilities
Zuckerman Investment Group is looking to add an experienced investment analyst to our investment team. The Client/PM Associate is responsible for:
- Establish and cultivate trusting relationships with new and existing clients, proactively helping them understand their investments and planning strategies
- Monitor current portfolio positions and relevant market developments, peer activity and industry news
- Prepare performance reports and other data for clients, that may involve evaluating account performance, analyzing investment portfolios, and generating quarterly investment performance monitors
- Support the investment team in identifying and researching investment ideas
- Understand our data packaging and synthesis the information
- Prepare detailed investment memorandums/reports and present them to the investment team
- Own the PM Implementation process; run reports, analyze data and review strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree – Graduating between Dec 2022-May 2024
- 2 years of experience in investment analysis and research with a proven track record
- A deeply-held belief in value investing
- A passion for in-depth, fundamental bottoms-up company analysis and research
