Wealth Management Associate

Job Description

Zuckerman Investment Group is looking for an Associate to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity to participate in the expansion of an established firm and will offer great growth potential. You will gain exposure to all aspects of a wealth management firm by providing support to the relationship management, investment, portfolio management, compliance and sales teams. This position has the potential to develop into one of several different career paths, including client service, client operations, investment operations, and business development.

This position will be hybrid. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the interplay between relationship management, investments & sales
  • Support client advisors in the execution of core client processes
  • Complete day-to-day client requests, including money movements, new account setup, preparing for client meetings and other projects as needed
  • Learn the inner workings of our key technological systems
  • Maintain essential relationship management, sales and investment data in our client relationship management system (CRM)
  • Coordinate with custodians on items such as client money movements, account openings, post-trade processing, voluntary corporate actions, and tax mailings
  • Participate in the reconciliation, allocations & settlements processes
  • Assist in various projects to support the investment and portfolio management teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Preferred Majors: Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Development, Marketing
  • Minimum GPA: 3.6
  • Highly organized, extremely detail-oriented and able to multi-task with time-sensitive items
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interest in taking one of the CFP, CPA or CFA exams

Family Office Associate

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and extremely detail-oriented individual to enhance processes within the firm’s family office function. By considering Zuckerman Investment Group, you have decided to look beyond the ordinary public accounting firm and enjoy a unique opportunity to participate in the expansion of an established firm. As a member of our team, you will develop professionally by gaining exposure to all aspects of a wealth management firm, providing support to senior leaders, and working directly with the head of family office.

This position will be hybrid. The firm is currently on a hybrid remote workforce due to precautions related to COVID-19. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with third-party accounting firms to complete the family office tax returns
  • Facilitate tax operations for clients, including generating quarterly gain/loss projections, distributing 1099s, and managing relationships with client accountants
  • Complete day-to-day operations for family office clients, including money movements, new account setup, preparing for review meetings and other projects as needed
  • Perform reconciliation and quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy cost basis
  • Maintain and review account performance records and portfolio valuations
  • Assist in tax planning and strategic planning for family office clients
  • Execute various projects within the family office function to enhance processes and reporting needs

Requirements

  • 1 – 5 years of professional experience
  • Passion for numbers
  • Highly organized, extremely detail-oriented and desire and ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high net worth tax services, estate planning, or family office preferred
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) or desire to pursue CPA credential
