Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and extremely detail-oriented individual to enhance processes within the firm’s finance, accounting, reporting and compliance functions. By considering Zuckerman Investment Group, you have decided to look beyond the ordinary public accounting firm and enjoy a unique opportunity to participate in the expansion of an established firm. As a member of our team, you will develop professionally by gaining exposure to all aspects of a wealth management firm, providing support to senior leaders, and working directly with the head of finance.
This position will be hybrid. The firm is currently on a hybrid remote workforce due to precautions related to COVID-19.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the firm’s books and records to produce and analyze monthly financial statements
- Coordinate with third-party accounting firm to facilitate the preparation of our company tax returns
- Perform reconciliation and quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy of account performance records, cost basis, composites, and portfolio valuations
- Update, gather and distribute data related to clients’ tax and estate reporting needs
- Support the firm’s client billing process by calculating, processing, and reconciling quarterly fees
- Manage relationships with the firm’s banks and vendors
- Assist with the preparation of annual business filings and insurance renewals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting – Graduating between Dec 2022-May 2024
- Minimum GPA: 3.5
- Passion for numbers and desire to pursue Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential
- Highly organized, extremely detail-oriented and desire and ability to solve complex problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Intuit QuickBooks preferred but not required
